Promising Potential are working with a leading NSW allied health business who empower individuals to live independently and enjoy a good quality of life.

They are currently recruiting for a part-time Speech Pathologist (2-3 days per week) to work in the Central Coast region.

Core duties of this role include:

As an experienced Speech Pathologist you will provide a comprehensive range of disability services for individuals with complex needs in the community and within group homes. Within this role you will have an opportunity to work within an expanding multidisciplinary team that embraces therapy and interventions that are goal based and use latest evidence. Through your compassionate nature and enjoyment of helping others you will assist clients achieve significant outcomes. Our staff have built a reputation for their professionalism, approachability and supportiveness.

The skills you may bring to the role include:

  • A high level of professional judgement and knowledge to provide a wide range of speech and language supports to adolescent and adults with a variety of needs
  • Assess the communication and mealtime management abilities of the client utilising a range of assessment techniques and tools
  • Design intervention plans that are holistic, client-centric and outcomes driven
  • Provide support and assist clients, carers and families with the implementation of intervention plans and programs
  • You will be competent in developing care plans and writing comprehensive reports based on your advanced clinical understanding, application of various clinical assessments and implementation of appropriate interventions to address prioritised needs.

Skills and Experience:

  • Genuine compassion, empathy and interest working within the aged care and disability sectors
  • Current registration with SPA;
  • University qualifications in Speech Pathology;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with clients and others;
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills;
  • Attention to detail and skills in analysis, planning and problem solving;
  • experience/understanding of working in the NDIS (highly desirable)
  • Commitment to client outcomes and evidence based practice
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment
