About us:

Lockheed Martin Australia is the Combat System Integrator for the Future Submarine Project (FSP) and is responsible for the definition, design, build, qualification and delivery of the Combat System.

We now have a number of rare but exciting permanent opportunities for entry to senior level Software Engineers to be part of the Combat System Common Framework Design product team. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to a high profile project for Australia, while learning new skills from our vast talent pool across Lockheed Martin Australia and the United States.

The Common Framework Integrated Product Team (COFR IPT) is responsible for developing and maintaining the FSP Combat System Common Framework to create the overarching logical structure and understanding that enables Combat System subsystem products to be successfully integrated together to form the Future Submarine Combat System.

This includes establishing the common “glue” processing, common tactical network, common consoles and common storage that the Combat System products shall utilise.


Your responsibilities will include:

The primary responsibly is to assist in the design and implementation of the Common Framework (COFR) for the Future Submarine Combat System. You will use your software and system design experience to develop the requirements, design and implement a complex virtualised data centre solution.


About you:

  • Experience in relevant technologies and domains at a entry to senior levels
  • Experience across the software/systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of existing and emerging software technologies
  • Experience working in an engineering project environment (preferably within the defence industry)
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering process, procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle
  • Experience in software engineering methodologies and techniques preferably in a defence, simulation or web-based development domains.
  • Experience in the design and development of user interfaces
  • Experience int the documentation and support for developed software

Special Requirements:

Candidates must be eligible for Commonwealth of Australia clearance to Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) level
