The Sydney Tax Operations team sits within the larger TAS Technical team, reporting into Senior Manager Technical. It provides tax operational support across the three TAS sites (Sydney, Adelaide and Perth). It is responsible for managing tax compliance matters in respect of the platform products, managed investment schemes and superannuation funds that are administered by TAS. This role is intended to support the Senior Tax Operations Manager in the performance of the following activities:
The testing of controls around tax procedures performed by the TAS group, across three sites by approximately 130 staff; The implementation of enhancements to these controls, in collaboration with the line teams; The resolution of ATO queries in regards to member and fund activities; The preparation and lodgement of BAS for superannuation funds The delivery of tax training to the TAS line teams; The preparation of Superannuation fund tax provisions and income tax returns; Other tax-related technical support, projects and matters within TAS. A university degree in accounting or business Working towards or completed CA, CPA, CTA or Masters of Tax. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the financial services tax technical or equivalent in a commercial environment Funds management experience Australian taxation experience Strong tax technical and operational knowledge Ability to work in a changing environment Demonstrated delivery of high quality output Relationship management ability with internal customers High customer service orientation Negotiation and conflict resolution skills Strong team player Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation Able to see both the big picture and detail in a situation Able to work under pressure Self-starter/independent What is it like to work there?
