Progressive employer with a new start-up mine looking for a Site Planner/Scheduler for the Rail Department. Reports to Control Manager

Position Scope

• Preparation of detailed construction schedules for the scope including key milestones, land, approvals, commercial, procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning.

• Ensure contractor scheduling compliance to project planning/scheduling procedure

• Provide Level 3 scheduling support for all the project functions including engineering, land, approvals and construction

• Perform delay analysis and extension of time assessments for commercial team.

Key Deliverables / Key Performance Indicators of the Job

• Development & management of project progress reporting

• Analyse impact of various schedule concerns and offer guidance and solutions

• Other duties related to project controls as directed by immediate supervisor.

• Managing the on boarding of contractors to ensure project requirements are captured and implemented.

• Procure and manage the delivery of packages, as necessary, to support the delivery of the project.

Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships by:

• Developing, maintaining and implementing programs to improve project controls implementation.

• Providing timely, accurate and thorough advice, reporting and direction in regards to planning and requirements.

• Working closely and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Providing specialist advice to the project teams

• Maintaining currency of information in regards to own scope, represent Carmichael Rail Network externally.

Performance

Contribute to the effectiveness and performance of the Project, by:

• Managing the delivery of the project requirements including field execution

• Monitor, review and report performance against requirements for projects and programs

• Managing the activities of consultants and subcontractors including auditing and tracking performance against project requirements

• Ensuring compliance with the project compliance management systems and contribute to the improvement of this system

• Co-ordinating and managing the maintenance, implementation and amendment of all plans and documentation.

• Co-ordinating, attending and preparing for internal and external audits

Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:

• Tertiary Qualifications (Degree) in Engineering, Business, Management or related disciplines

• Minimum of 6 years relevant industry experience including experience with planning for major projects

• Experience in similar positions on a large scale infrastructure project

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills

• Computer proficient, previous use of industry standard software for managing project planning.
