Enjoying a team approach to holistic, client-centred care, you will work under limited supervision to provide client services to people who are aged, frail or disabled and who wish to remain living in their own home with some assistance. This will include providing clients assistance with bathing, showering, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming, along with toileting and continence management. You will help with feeding clients and maintain their mobility/dexterity through transferring and lifting, including the use of mechanical aides. You will also undertake bed making, cleaning of equipment, aids, utensils in work area (including personal possessions), and distribute clean laundry and personal attire. Assisting with the provision of routine treatments and procedures, you will report and record general observations of individual clients. You will have completed the AQF Certificate III relevant to the position and have experience working with aged care clients. Demonstrating the ability to perform under limited direction, you will work well within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Along with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality, you will display empathy towards the elderly and the disabled, and be willing to develop a positive rapport with clients and their families.
